Robin is a woodworker and painter - a combination that joins beautifully together in pieces of art that tell a story. Her Florida farm and surrounding area provides much of the subject matter for her landscapes and she often works “en plein air” on location capturing the color and light of the natural world. A graduate of Pinellas Technical Institute's cabinetmaking class, she has enjoyed building furniture and remodeling houses alongside her father since she was a little girl. Now she is putting her woodworking knowledge together with her passion for painting. Her latest series of paintings in re-purposed containers cradle her paintings and give them an added depth of voice.
Painting + Found Objects Re-purposed and Combined
This is where all the fun happens!
Robin's studio and woodworking shop is located right in the middle of her farm. There are always two and four legged onlookers and sometimes they even become inspiration for her subject matter. She and her husband raise free range chicken, eggs, turkey and pork and take it to the local farmer's market in Gainesville, FL. If you are in the area, you can visit the markets every Saturday at the Haile Plantation Farmer's Market and the Alachua County Farmer's Market.
